With each fallen Leaf, permission for a deep surrender begins.
We have entered the beginning of my favourite time of year! The air becomes crisp, the skies a more potent blue and the beautiful display of colours starts to paint our natural world.
The Wheel of the Year brings us to Mabon/Autumn Equinox on September 22nd representing equal day and equal night. It's a time to celebrate the changing of the seasons from activation to preparation as we begin let go like the leaves on the trees, weaving our way to the time where we go within. With each fallen leaf, permission for a deep surrender begins.
As the second harvest festival in the Wheel of the Year, Mabon is a time to celebrate the cornucopia of life from field to table. We are spoiled at the markets with all the delicious fruits and vegetables that are synonymous with the season - apples. pears, corn and squashes. The solar activation of the summer has delivered our bounty and will sustain us if we prepare accordingly for the Dark Season to come.
Just as we prepare our outside world, Mabon is a time to start to look within to see what wisdom we have gained since the summer solstice and what we can being to let go of.
What in your life are you ready to let go of?
What are you harvesting from your summer to see you through the coming months?
Where can you get more grounded in your every day?
To honour this seasonal shift, spend time outside soaking in the last of the Sun's warmth, take a walk in the woods as a meditation tuning into the trees and the air. Make a feast of harvest inspired foods. Create an alter with seasonal symbols and colours .. embrace the surrender that is here!
Mabon/Autumn equinox blessings to you!
