It takes courage to live an authentic life

The Wheel of the Year has turned once again - Lughnasadh/Lammas, the first of the three harvest festivals, marks High Summer. The farmer's markets are full of Mother Earth's bounty as we bask in the energy of abundance, activation and preparation. Commonly observed on August 1st, astrological Lammas occurred on August 7th when the sun was at 15 degrees exactly in the sign of Leo.

Alongside the Lammas portal, we have been in a very potent energy of Sirius - our spiritual Sun! Since the end of July, the cosmos have created a sacred container for manifestation leading up to today, the Lions Gate Portal on 8/8. The energy of the Lion/Lioness is strong, brave and confident. This is a day for putting our biggest, wildest and boldest ideas/dreams out to the universe.

What do you want to birth forward at this time?

Where in your life could you harness the energy of the Lion/Lioness?

Spend this day in joy and contemplation. Allow space for stillness to commune with the Divine Mother/Father, God/Goddess. The Lion/Lioness is synonymous with courage. Originating from the French word “coeur” for heart, this energy is very much about tuning into our heart space for creation, divination and true knowing of what we want to “harvest” in our lives and in the future.

To help you tune in to your heart space, I offer up this brief heart coherence practice:

Find a quiet space to sit for 10 - 15 minutes. Close your eyes and begin to tune into your breath. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. Do this a few times as your body starts to settle and release any tension.

Bring both hands in front of your heart space. Now, inhale for the count of 4 - 4, 3, 2, 1. Exhale for a count of 6 - 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 through your nose only. Do this about 4 - 5 times until you start to feel a deeper surrender within all the while focusing on your heart space.

When it feels resonate, ask your heart the following:

My heart, what do you want me to know at this time?

The answer will come quick and clear.

Next ask, my heart, what do you need from me?

And, lastly, my heart, what do I need to know about xxx ? This is where you can ask your heart, the centre of your truth and inner wisdom an important question about what you need clarity on in your life.

Take some time to write down your answers. Don't over analyse. This is not a linear practice or meant for critical understanding but rather innate knowing that comes through you like a living oracle. Steep in the wisdom. Breathe it in.

It takes true courage to live an authentic life. Like the Lion/Lioness, you have all the courage, confidence and boldness to live that life … step into your power and ROAR!

 Lughnasadh/Lammas blessings to you!
