Sometimes, Rest is the most Activating Choice

We welcome High Summer as Lughnasadh, or Lammas as it's commonly known, greets us with this next turn of the Wheel of the Year. We are also in what is know as the Lionsgate Portal - a very potent solar energy alignment when Sirius joins Leo in the peak of the Lionsgate on August 8th.

Lughnasadh begins the first of the harvest festivals as we start to reap what we have sowed over the past few months. It is the wheat, the bread of life, that comes to our tables first. As I sit in the presence of the mountain pines at a cute cafe in the town of Bragg Creek, Alberta, I have been thinking about what I have sowed in the past few months and what I am reaping now.

Uprooting one's life is never easy - and the older we get, the more layered and tiring it can feel. There were times during the moving process where I thought I would - couldn't - get through. But I did. I trusted, even in depleted energy, that my efforts would be rewarded on the other side of it. So far, that has been the case.

In this most potent cosmic time, with the solar energy supporting us to create and activate, I am at the cusp of something better and greater. Just a few weeks ago I was breathing in salt air, and now it's mountain air surrounded by grounding energy that I craved so much. What makes this personal harvest even sweeter is right next to me is my magical Merlin - he made his own cross country journey by plane on July 30th. It could not have gone more smoothly. We were both cared for during his entire trip.

So here we sit, not really knowing what's next but enjoying the fruits of labour so far.

Where in your life are you seeing or receiving the first harvest of your efforts from these last months?

What is tasting ripe and ready?

What is calling you to shine even brighter?

The Lionsgate Portal invites us to channel all the qualities that represent the Lioness/Lion. The Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet is a fierce mother Goddess that is shown with the head of lioness and the body of a woman. She is full of protective, fierce love. She is not one to sit back when something comes to challenge or threaten. She is ready to activate, to ROAR and to hold her ground.

Is there anything in you life that is needing some extra fierceness or protection?

Do you need some extra courage to live the life that is calling to be lived?

Ask her for support. Simply light a candle, look into the flame and ask Goddess Sekhmet to show you how to make that next move or take that next step with all the courage that is needed. She will be there.

Wishing you a beautiful first harvest!
